The End of AudPod
After a lot of thought over the last few months, I have decided to stop producing new episodes of AudPod at the end of 2020. There will likely be a a few new episodes before then, but after the new year, I will be hanging up my mics and putting my energy into other projects.
I started putting together episodes of AudPod in November of 2016 after moving back to Chicago (following a disastrous and extremely brief move to Los Angeles), and the first episode, which was an interview with percussionist Peter Ferry, came out in January of 2017.
At the start, this podcast gave me a project to focus on during an uncertain and unstable time in my life, and it helped me to feel more a part of this community; over the past 3-and-a-half years it has allowed me to talk to so many people about the projects that they focus on, and that make our music community so special.
Thank you to those who have been supportive of this project. I love this city so much-- it is deeply flawed in its institutions and divisions, but has such a capacity for creativity and beauty. I'm truly happy to have been able to produce a podcast that (I would like to think) highlights that creative landscape.
